Anything can catch the eye - but what is interesting in fashion terms isn't necessarily what makes a good drawing and vice versa. He use the very simple lines to create the alive character. He also very hardworking ! His woeking method is the hardest and the most interesting. In order to leave something out, first have to put it in, or at least understand how every thing works. He did dozens of drawings on to layout paper taking the best from each one as he went. When the drawing looks right then he started to eliminate. He keeps working until it looks spontaneous is his working methods .
For the color apply It depends on the result he want to achieve and what is most appropriate to the subject. he used watercolour or gouache for small scale pieces. If he need flat saturated colour then he use cut paper collage and then apply line using an acetate overlay. By the way he use black Indian ink on acetate or paper for the pure lines drawing in order to make the outlayers more alive!
From his illustration we can know he escape from the world of style .He use the special way to create the unique drawings .
